The Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves are a magical Gold Coast experience you must put on your to-do list!
Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves, Cedar Creek, Gold Coast
A ground-breaking conservation project, the Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves at Cedar Creek, provides the perfect habitat for glow worms.
Rainforest areas in Australia are unfortunately shrinking due to the impact of us humans on the environment, meaning fewer wet caves where glow worms reside. So at Mount Tamborine, they have set out to create the perfect wet cave with ideal conditions for glow worms.

A 30-minute tour will enable you to experience the glow worms, accompanied by a biologist who will be able to explain all about their life cycle and behaviour. Leading you along the boardwalk and into the rainforest habitat, you'll get a glimpse of the work that has gone into creating this unique and special place. Plus of course you'll see lots of glow worms - guaranteed - all day long! Their sticky strands and glowing bottoms put on an incredible display!
This is a very affordable attraction for the whole family on the Gold Coast, the kids will love it!
And as it is located at Cedar Creek Winery, there is a cellar door, restaurant with superb food and a picnic area you can enjoy, all set in picturesque grounds, with stunning views. There's even an art gallery on site if you'd like to stroll around.
An eco-certified tourism business, the Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves will give you a great insight into conservation efforts in the region and your admission fee helps support and ensure the survival of glow worms, so you can rest assured that future generations will be able to witness the magical display these fascinating creatures put on. Experiencing the glow worms at Tamborine Mountain is the most sustainable way to see glow worms, as the site is structured in such a way that you can see and enjoy them, without harming them. Glow worms are delicate creatures that can only be found in Australia and New Zealand, so we definitely need to care for them and ensure their survival.
